The SKALE Portal 5.0 release is a major refresh focused on clarity, usability, and ecosystem expansion. This release introduces a refreshed Portal UI, including a redesigned home page, a more intuitive bridge flow, and enhanced chain pages for developers and chain owners. Portal 5.0 also sets the foundation for SKALE Expand inside the Portal, so Portal can support additional networks like SKALE on Base.
What’s New in Portal 5.0
SKALE Expand in Portal: Multi-Network Support
The Portal 5.0 release is a step forward for SKALE Expand. Portal now supports deployment and usage across SKALE Expand deployments in other EVM ecosystems, starting with SKALE on Base. Users see only the information relevant to the network being used, switching between supported networks is simple, and chain management is more robust and flexible, setting Portal up for the growth of SKALE via SKALE Expand.
Smoother Bridge Experience
Bridging is one of the most common actions in Portal, so the Bridge UI has been rebuilt to make it easier to understand what is happening at a glance, especially when moving between multiple networks. The updated flow more clearly differentiates the source and destination chains and improves overall readability.
Full Design Refresh
Portal 5.0 brings a new Home page and a big visual upgrade across the product, including dark & light mode, a refreshed icon library, enhanced chain icon styling, additional UI enhancements. The result is a cleaner, more consistent experience that improves scannability and day-to-day usability.
Quick Access to SKALE chain assets
The SKALE Chain page has been updated to include complete chain details for both developers and chain owners, making it easier to quickly access the information needed. This includes key chain identifiers and configuration details like Chain ID (integer and hex), MTM mode status, SKALE Manager name, chain owner, and more. This update is designed to reduce friction when verifying chain info, grabbing endpoints, or troubleshooting.
Under-the-hood UI Polish (and better mobile UX)
Portal 5.0 also includes a set of refactors and polish improvements that make the UI more consistent and reliable. This includes a UI component refactor for cleaner, more maintainable styling, improved token balance tooltips, and mobile UI/UX fixes for better layouts and smoother interactions.
